When reading other peoples blogs I notice that everyone has a different opinion about technology and everyone is at different levels when it comes to technology. I also enjoy reading what everyone else has to say. Also I have noticed that people talk a lot about missing paper or their up coming test which is good to know that someone else is having the same situation that you currently are in.

On the next technology aspect I would like to learn would be anything that would help me in my educational career. I do not care what technology it is just something that will be helpful in the future.

On achieving my future related goals I plan on achieving all the aspects and requirements in order for the the technology to help me. Practicing these techniques will help me be able to use them in the future.

A website that I find to be very interesting is called Game Zone. This is a website that has several different games involving vocabulary, grammar, and other tools that can be used to help a student at the Elementary Level. The website has games such as Number Hunt, The Letter Game, Rocking English, and English Star.

After playing a couple of the games they look like they could be cool tools to use when they have completed an assignment. This is a good tool for when a student completes an assignment because they are having fun playing games while learning at the same time. The link to the website is the following : http://www.english-online.org.uk/games/gamezone2.htm

I skill that I would most like to learn next is maybe learn a little more on Excel. I do not normally use Excel that much so learning more and more about it can only help me in the future.

In order to achieve my educational technology goals I need to continue to complete my assignments and understand what I am doing. I want to be able to use my knowledge on technology in the classroom and to help the classroom environment.

Chapter 8 involves security issues, ethics, and emerging technologies in education. A computer security risk is any event or action that has the potential of causing a loss of computer equipment, software, data and information, or porcessing capability. A computer crime is any illegal act involving a computer. A main threat is a computer virus. A virus is a potentially damaging computer program designed to affect your computer negatively without your knowledge or permission by altering the way it works. Computer viruses do not generate by chance and creators of virus programs write them for a specific purpose. Due to the infusion of informational technologies and the World Wide Web, teachers no longer are bound by the four walls of teaditional classrooms and the two covers of traditional textbooks. Another thing that is helping teachers is the digital media revolution which is just beginning and is being fueled by the nees and desires of today's digital students.

As for skills I have acuqired, the more recent thing we have done is the WIKI project or wikispaces. I have only breifly looked at the web page and I am still trying to get familiar with is. It looks like it would be a good tool to use in the future.

I don't really have anything else to say except it's almost Thanksgiving Break!

Chapter 7 talks about evaluating educational techonology and itnergration strategies in the classroom. Evaluating educational technology before instruction begins, during the instructional period, and after instruction has taken place is important. It also can be difficult to fine the right educational technology for new users or technology because each year developers create hundreds of new eudcational software packages and web sites foe the K-12 classroom. Involving intergration strategies, technology plays a key role in easing thei change because it allows us teachers to use tehcnology tools to enhance the learning environment. These many different technologies, availability of computer labs, and different kinds and numbers of computers in the classroom are found in school today.

Last week we learned how to creat a game or quiz activity in powerpoint. This is a tool that I wil be able to use often when teaching. It was really helpful and is a good activity to use when teaching.

As for a message to everyone else all I have to say is Happy Halloween!

Technology integration, which is also called curriculum intergration, is the combination of all technlofy parts, such as software, together with each subect-related area of curriculum to enhance learning. It is essentially using technology to help meet the curriculum standards and learner outocmes of each lesson, unit, or activity. The ASSURE Model was deeloped y Heinich, Molenda, Russell, and Smaldina is a procedural guide for planning and delivering instruction that integrates technologies and media into the teaching process.

The most recent skill that we have been practicing is powerpoint presentations. We worked though items involving adding pictures, sound effects, and animation to our powerpoint presentations to use for lessons.

As for other information I'm glad that the Noles won this past weekend but it would be nice if we could have shut them out but at least we won!

Chapter 6 talks about Technology, Digital Media, and Curriculum Integration. Curriculum is defined as the knowledge, skills, and performance standards students are expected to acquire in particular grade levels, or through sequences of clusters based on subject matter units of instruction. State Departments of Education provide their school districts with documents that describe curriculum standards and benchmarks for learning. These are often called curriculum frameworks. Also one way that people l earn is through an authentic learning experience which are experiences that are instructional activities that demonstrate real-life connections by associating the concept being taught with a real-life experience or event.

A few new things that I have learned is a couple of random things in Microsoft Word that I did not know about or how to use them. Also I learned a couple of things about what is out there on the web and how to search for certain things durning the Web Hunt.

The only thing I have to share is that I was so happy to see us beat Alabama this past weekend and I hope we beat NC State this coming weekend!

The World Wide Wed, the Web, consists of a worldwide collection of electronic documents that have built in hpyerlinks to other related documents. Hyperslinkg, or links, allow users to navigate quickly from on Web pafe to another regardless of whether the Web pages are located on the same computer or on different computers in different countries. The Web server is a computer that dellivers requested Web pages. Web browser is a program that interpretys HTML and dipays Web pages and enables you to link to other Web page and Web sites. Search tools enable users to locate information found at Web sites all over the world. A search engine is a specific tup of serach tool that finds Web sites, Web pages, and Internet files that mtach one or more of the keywords that someone enters.

New skills that I have acquired is some basci tool in Microsoft Word that I have come across when I was working on the practice test for microsoft word. Also I have explored the inspiration program some more and have foudn more interesting items that can be good for future use when it comes to education and teaching.

I don't really have anything else to say however I can not wait until Thanksgiving Break and it is only the middle of September. I wish we had more home footbal games this year but hey what can you do.
