In Chapter 3 we come across things such as Application Software, Productivity Software, and graphics and multimedia software. Application software consists of programs designed to perform specific tasks for users. Within Application software there is productivity software whicch consists of word processing, spreadsheets, presentations graphics, database, and personal information management. Also within Application software there is graphic design and multimedia which consists of desktop publishing, paint and image editing, multimedia authoring, and web page authoring. Software applications give someone the ability to creat, edit, format, print, and save documents. A document is a piece of work created with an application and saved on a disk with a unique filename. Something that is considered a productivity software is a word processing software which is used to create, edit, and format documents that consist mainly text.

Since my last posting I gained knowlegde on different terms used in application software and tools to use on the computer such as different applications that can be applied to help someone with their work on the computer. I also picked up on some different techniques on paint and image editing software which is perfect for me because I love pictures and learning how to edit them on the computer is a good tool to have.

My future career consists of becoming and first or second grade teacher. Learning these programs can help me to create presentations for that of my students, their parents, and my administers. Since kids are learning how to use a computer at younger and younger ages it is good to become extremely familiar with computers and all the applications that if offers.
